Going back and looking at these photos as I sit in my freezing flat (with a mind-of-its-own radiator) makes my heart feel heavy and my throat feel a bit dry. And before you think it’s because I miss my baby brother, (and yes, that is my baby brother before you make some of your own unhealthy conclusions) it’s entirely because I’m missing the sun. According to a tweet I read yesterday, there was only 17 hours of sunlight in London in all of November. Now I’m sitting here with a tea in hand to keep me warm and I think about how December hasn’t started any better…
So we’re at the point in the post, where we are not envious of me for having the opportunity to spend a holiday in California in a full denim outfit. We are at the point where we think about how glorious the California sun is. And right now, just right now, I’m at the point where I’m contemplating all my life decisions and considering a move to California.*
*Don’t take this seriously.
Since the moment my brother and I were picked up in the Blacklane car, we rolled down the windows to see the California sunset over the tinted windows. My arm out with air running through my fingers. My brother capturing every moment of the golden rays on Snapchat. It felt surreal to be in such a different place, climate, landscape. A place where a full denim outfit is much appreciated!
