DIY Scented Oil Diffuser

Posted in LifestyleHome

Around this time of year, right before the summer holiday ends, I tend to get myself ready for the new year. Since autumn is often associated with the first day of classes, my clock naturally converts the peak days of summers as days of cleaning and organizing. I usually get my supplies ready, make my room orderly, and prepare my closet. My mom would always help my brother and I get organized. One thing she always did was get a scented oil diffuser ready with new oil for the rest of the year. A scented oil diffuser is a great way to bring a natural aroma to your room. I remember making a DIY scented oil diffuser on the last Sunday before school began to get our room ready after a deep clean. My mom would always make her own mix for her scented oil diffuser as she was often skeptical of chemical formulas in pre-packaged diffusers.

Since I still making a DIY scented oil diffuser every year around August, I thought I would share the way my mom makes her and now I make mine.

You Will Need

Directions

  1. Use 10-15 drops of essential oil
  2. Fill the remainer of the tumbler with baby oil
  3. Stir the oil mixture with the bamboo skewers and arrange them

Essential Oils to Use

You can combine essential oils if you would like, but I prefer a single essential oil. Each room in our house has its own scent. Here’s a guide that might be helpful for you to choose from. Another thing I will note is that it is important to get therapeutic grade essential oils to get the full impact of the essential oils!

  • Lavender is associated with rest and sleep, so place it in a bedroom on a nightstand.
  • Lemon is a clean and fresh scent that should be in the kitchen.
  • Lemongrass is soothing and can be used in a bathroom.
  • Sandalwood is warm and comforting, which should be used in a living room or lounge.
