home is where the heart is
A city like London makes you cherish the idea of having a place called home. A place that holds you belongings, but also feels warm and secure. Since stepping foot on the soil here it has been rather difficult to find that perfect balance within a space to call home or even a neighborhood. The last several weeks have been a bit hectic as I have been trying to grapple with trying to find the perfect place, tons of paperwork, then the moving process and the closing out procedures with the former flat. It was all just too stressful and I’m sure I’m not the first to preach that. Thankfully with the help of a few good friends, I’m gradually assimilating into my new home. Since nothing is in order I thought I’d just share a few glimpses of the new place and an absolutely stunning view at the end.

So this was my new home in London located in Pimlico. Just behind Big Ben, 20 minute walk to the city’s most coveted center, and an enclave that made it feel comfortable and suburban. My building was in Regency architecture, which is quite popular in the area. It was a wide white space with tons of natural light and delicate period features to give it a bit of extra charm. It was a place that I saw myself grow and then happy to move on from as it was more of a stepping stone. I loved that I could go for morning walks to the square where you could watch amateur cricket and soccer matches and then it coughs you up to the high street to grab coffee, a pint, or explore some of the best charity shops in the city! Oh what a special time that was!
