One thing I was not aware of when coming to St. Andrews was its natural beauties. I mean I knew it was a beautiful, historic town. The exotic flowers in full bloom in each corner and the sprinklings of secret gardens throughout the town, it’s just so natural. Organic. Sweet. Lovely. I never had a true appreciation for flowers, really. It was something that I wasn’t ever really gifted. Flowers barely grew at home since it was so hot in Florida, I grew up with shrubs. Shrubs are not attractive.
With that said, it’s funny when you think about how places change you. Change your interests, desires and dreams. Never ever would I have thought I would specialize in oil and war. I always saw myself as someone who would do something for women of the Middle East, I mean I would, but to specialize in something that exudes masculinity? Places change you. All that I have endured this year has made me in a very tough cookie. I guess you could say that. I’ve developed a hard outer shell that very few people have seen here in St. Andrews.
Either way, I still think life is beautiful. It’s exciting to know that each day is always a mystery. Any experience can completely change you and sprinkle you with enhancements.
