Autumn's Museum Visits

Autumn has been a bit nebulous in London really. There are days of sunshine and warmth from the sunlight, days of rain and strong wind, sometimes a quintessential autumn day with a medley of a brisk breeze and an autumn sunset and an occasional afternoon shower. If you know me, I don’t mind a bit of rain this time of the year especially when I’m snuggled up with a novel or perusing one of London’s finest museums. So I spent one afternoon perusing the Victoria and Albert Museum when the autumn rain started in full force and ended it sitting outside at a cafe with some delicious brunch and cake when the sun finally came out.

If you’re planning a visit to London during the Autumn season then you want to make sure your day incorporates both indoor and outdoor time. Since the weather is so confusing this time of the year, you want to make sure you can run cover even when rain is in forecast. Here are some of my favorite Autumn daytime activities in London!

• Visit the Victoria & Albert Museum! They have a lovely patio where you can enjoy the exterior architecture, beautiful flowers, and a coffee too. I’ve listed out my favorite galleries and pieces at the Victoria & Albert Museum here.
• A great neighborhood to explore during Autumn in London is Primrose Hill! It’s got a beautiful park that overlooks London and the little neighborhood has some of the most charming shops, cafes, and restaurants. Here’s a list of things to do in Primrose Hill!
• One of my favorite places to explore no matter the season is the Natural History Museum in London! It’s got such great collections, an outdoor exhibit, and sometimes even a butterfly exhibit.
