Rock & Refined

Rock & Refined

After literally days of being cooped up in my bed in cozy pajamas sipping on tea and wrapping myself in warm blankets, it only felt right to take advantage of a day that mimicked spring. I usually go for a structure skirt, blouse and blazer. Instead I replaced it with something more rock and refined. When I say rock and refine, I simple mean is that I wanted to feel more comfortable, yet try something new. I also wanted to add little bits of personality to my outfit, yet still make it a little daring.

I combined a whimsicle silhouette dress that were inspired by vintage dresses usually work in spring. The dress had leather details and finishes along with a gray finish toughening up the rock and refined look. The 1920s inspired tights is one of my favorites to incorporate something interesting and texture to the otherwise simple outfit. It helps elongate the legs a bit, gives a great seamless look, and flows beautifully into the booties!

It was a spontaneous rock and refined look. One that you would see me again in as it brings out typical London in me. It’s edgy, subtle, and enough to make a statement inspired by this showstopping outfit.

What’s your favorite way of adding a different edge to an outfit? Have you ever tried a rock and refined look? Some of my favorite ways of adding a bit of edge to a more twee outfit is changing up the colors. Go for something dark! You can also add metal or leather elements to your outfit. Go for chunkier accessories!
