Every single time I meet someone, either out and about or at my own home, they seem to think I have everything together. Mostly because they rarely see me talking about or caring about chores really. I aim to have a chore-less weekend and pack them with activities, blog work or now that it’s warm—long walks on the hunt for blossoms.

One thing I learned over the years is that I never want to spend the weekends doing things I don’t want to do. It makes the little break seem so much shorter and I would get the Sunday blues so, so hard. I thought I would give you my weekly breakdown on how I enjoy a chore-less weekend {as it does require a bit of planning}.

My rule for this is plain and simple, practice one chore a day. I do have hectic work days and sometimes long days too, but one thing I don’t have is a child. So please keep in mind that if you have a tiny human you take care of… this may/may not work for you, but I would love your input!

Monday - 1 Load of Laundry + Bill

I always start the week with a load of laundry. Laundry is a tricky one and oftentimes I have so many variations of loads to do. Honestly, I have 4 variations: lights, darks, sheets and towels. I put the really horrible workout clothes with the towels. And each week, I make sure I do two loads depending on which load needs the most attention. So if I spent the week before out of town, my sheets don’t really need washing, but my clothes might.

Another thing I’m always checking and re-checking are my bills {and it includes my blog finances too}. I like to make sure I know how much I spent over the weekend and check which invoices should be settled that upcoming week for brand collaborations.

Tuesday - Organize a Section of Room/Flat

My undergarments/pajamas drawers always need tending. Everything get shuffled and disorganized and usually I have a pile of clothes that need to be sorted on a corner chair in my room. The rest of the flat is usually fine, but my room needs a bit of tidying, so I use this time to organize that mess. If I’m up for it, sometimes I’ll take on a bigger project like organizing my entire closet or something. This task is one that motivates me to work towards a chore-less weekend, since I hate it!

Wednesday - Groceries + Cook a Meal + Clean Kitchen

I like to pick up groceries twice a week just to keep things fresh since I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. I rarely pick up ready made or frozen items. Usually midweek I’m craving something different anyways so I pick up my groceries, cook an easy one pot meal {like my summer chicken soup} and use cook time to clean the kitchen. I’m all about multitasking.

Thursday - Another Load of Laundry + Clean Bathroom

Like I said, I have 4 load variations of laundry that I do on average and stick to doing just 2 loads during the week. If you continue to follow that regimen, you won’t need to do a seriously chunk of laundry every 2 weeks or so. This used to happen to me all the time when I lived in a tiny flatshare and was an absolute nightmare. This of course work for people who isn’t taking care of a full family!

Along with the laundry, which actually isn’t much of the chore since the machine is doing it, I catch up on cleaning the bathroom and doing a quick dusting of the rest of the flat.

This clearly doesn’t tick all the boxes on the chores list, if you’re a deep cleaner and organizer like me, but it does get a bulk done. I like to keep my weekends fairly lean as I usually have to spend the time organizing blog content and catching up with friends. Sometimes London graces us with beautiful weather and it would suck staying in and sorting through your underwear drawer then, no? Here’s to a chore-less weekend!
