What I Wore

I’ve shared this a while ago, but there was a time in my life where I used to wear only dresses. It was about 4 years that I never wore trousers or jeans and as much as I missed out on the skinny jean phase, I think I get enough of it in London with the weather here. With that said, I had compiled my fair share of versatile dresses that made it easy for me to go from day-night-weekend. I made sure that each versatile dress showed off my personality, yet still catered to that classic style that allowed me to wear it to special events or at work.
What features make a versatile dress?
A dress that can be worn on any occasion, time, day or even during any weather condition. It can be layered to wear in different settings and can be taken from season to season. A versatile dress that makes you feel comfortable, is made up of high quality material and most of all is unique. It should be a dress that no matter how it’s styled, it will look and feel new every single time.
I clear out my closet every few months because of limited closet space and the influx of clothes coming in, but one thing I always do is collect these versatile dresses to be worn for any occasion. Much like this Boden dress—it’s a timeless staple that isn’t boring. I love the ruffles, the floral detail and the sleeves. The ruffle coverage and the silhouette make it work appropriate with a blazer (here are three ways I wear a grey blazer). Paired with statement earrings and a fun block heel make it perfect for an evening out for dinner. Finally, this versatile dress accompanied with my favorite boots of the season were ideal for touring and playing tourist in Porto. I wrote about my stay at Mercador Guest House in Porto a few days ago.
If you’re someone who struggles with finding something to wear, try to collect a few versatile dresses! It’s an easy go to solution for any occasion or situation!
