An Afternoon at the Alfred Dunhill Tournament

If you didn’t know already, St. Andrews is home to the oldest golf course in the world and thus considered the “home of golf” because a round was first played in the 15th century on that very course. Golf lovers are always walking the streets of St. Andrews and they make their way for a round at the Old Course! When I first accepted my offer at St. Andrews, my brother and dad were itching to make it to the course. It sits just a 5-minute walk from where I live and I knew afternoons practicing my drive, chip, and putting was going to have to happen. What a relaxing way to spend between lectures?

I was particularly excited to start my first free afternoon (after getting assimilated into my program and getting used to my schedule) on the Old Course watching Ernie Els, and a bunch of players that I routinely watch, play at The Alfred Dunhill tournament! Surprisingly, lots of my fellow peers and classmates are not into golf and so I was only able to get 2 friends to join me along. It didn’t matter because the company was great, the weather was impeccable given it’s Scotland, and watching my favorite golfers was exciting!

Here are some photos I took at the Alfred Dunhill Tournament and my first time at the Old Course in St. Andrews!
