I’ll let you in on a little secret. I didn’t go to prom in high school and I chose to not go only because I rather had gone to international science fair. Did I regret it? Not really. The international science fair was an all-expense paid trip that included a visit to the grand canyon and exploring other parts of Arizona. Coming to St. Andrews, I know that the university was known for it’s Gatsby-esque type “balls,” which translates into “dances” in American English. There are plenty sprinkled throughout the year. Some have pretty expensive tickets and are over the top and some are incredibly cheap and humble.
With my course load pretty significant, I didn’t get to go to many throughout the academic year. The dates would inconveniently be around the time term papers were due or I was expected to do a presentation. So I held off on the more popular and grand balls of the year and decided to jump to the chance when the summer ball tickets went on sale! I didn’t want to take my camera with me, so I decided to take a few “prom-like” shots right before we headed out for the evening. Those were the only things I missed about prom, photos with friends. So here are a few shots! Hope you enjoy them!
