I’m sure we’ve all had our fair share of tea parties throughout our childhood full of florals, pastels, and invisible tea and cakes of course. When I made my move to the UK, I imagined having real life tea parties and finally enjoying a true afternoon tea. I did get to, but it felt a lot more casual than what I had once depicted and imagined. Eventually, I decided to host a bunch of friends for a tea party and we dressed up and enjoyed it like the eay we all imagined.
If you’re trying to put together a look or trying to figure out what to wear to a tea party then look no further! I’ve got some ideas on what to wear to a tea party right here!
The most popular trend for when you search what to wear to a tea party is florals! I love going for a dress with either super subtle embroidered florals like in my dress here or for bigger florals across a dress. Avoid tiny florals as that isn’t the classic look.
This isn’t very hard when you’re wondering what to wear to a tea party. Look for bright colors as most tea parties are in the afternoon. Daytime colors should include pastels, pinks, yellows, and blues! They’re the most popular. But feel free to try other colors too.
It doesn’t matter the length in my opinion, but dresses are a great otion for tea parties. I prefer going for something with an empire waist, so if I’ve eaten a lot you’re still comfortable in what you’re wearing!
Go all out! British women love their facinators and I think you should go for it if you want to make a statement! I love going for chunky jewelry to compliment the florals and a fun pair of heels since I know I’ll be sitting and not doing much walking.
Are you wondering what to wear to a tea party? What would it be?
