♫♪ Bon Iver – re:stacks

I think we all overwhelm ourselves with to do lists when this time of the year hits. The time of the year where we neglect ourselves and think about others. Gifting others. Providing others. Being there for others. Coupled that with all that life throws at you from deadlines, to meetings, doing the tasks that consume everyday life, it all becomes rather difficult to focus on yourself.

People are always going to be hungry to fulfill their needs, but it’s important that you need to embrace and care for yourself first. You, just you, should come first. It seems rather selfish, but we are not as strong as we think we are. Human nature and the human body is quite a fragile phenomenon. One that can bend and flex in various angles and ways, but one that can break just as easily.

Tend to your life. Use this holiday season to gift yourself the tender, loving care your body deserves. I only share this from experience as I usually concern and busy myself with others’ needs when in reality it should be about me sometimes too. I know I garner an audience here at c&é that is quite like-minded, which is why I thought it was appropriate to share. So spend this weekend focusing on your health and well-being because you deserve it too.

This weekend I’m going to a gallery event and then a fundraising event. I’m hoping to spend much of Sunday reading and perusing magazines since it has been much too long that I’ve read the words of some of my favorite authors and novels. I hope this weekend is just as lovely as you! -S
