Lately, I’ve had a spring in my step. Though I mentioned I had a rough Wednesday, it was quickly made better with a little note from my flatmate and a sweet dinner with someone special. It’s silly to think that a text message or a simple tweet could bring such an uplifting feeling in the midst of feeling down. I think the culmination of the holidays and missing my family had to do something with it. Walking around London you see children hand-in-hand with their mother or father, mesmerized by all the lights, overcome with joy by hot chocolate with extra large marshmallows. I miss that.
But being here in London just means I have to come up with my own traditions and build my own memories from scratch, but remember to never replace the old. It’s a beautiful time of the year that comes and goes so quickly in the blink of an eye.
I made myself a priority during the holidays. Indulging in the sweet treats whilst making wholesome meals, painting my nails red, taking long walks to take in the holiday windows and energy, cuddled up reading novels or watching christmas movies, surrounding myself with the loveliest company. It has been utterly perfect.
So this weekend, I’m planning on doing just what I shared. And I believe it will be nothing less than wonderful. Hope you have a lovely weekend! x
