a {weekend note} from me to you…

I found myself completely immersed in my 2015 words to live by. Though it has been merely a fortnight since it’s implementation, it just seems as if life has forced me to embrace all three words. See how I utilized one of the words there? Though the start of the year always calls for renewed motivation and starting new, I partially feel I’m extending my “baggage” from 2014 into this year and trying to make things work. And it’s not. It’s simply overtaking the fresh, new motivation that I really wanted to see.

Is it just me or does it feel as if that other people’s lives seem to carry on seamlessly and we are here drowning in our world. Stress, worry, anxiety. And though pieces are slightly coming together, I’m not there yet and I can’t see that light {that everyone is talking about} at the end of the tunnel.

I have one of those best friends that I didn’t realize was my best friend until I looked back at my call log and recent text messages and my mobile was littered with that friend’s calls and texts consumed with motivational words and sometimes links to cat videos to simply bring a smile to my face. That friend, however, made me realize one thing: you are doing something that is exceptionally different and difficult. Not everyone specializes in something so niche and continues to push their boundaries in a completely different country. That same friend gave me one piece of advice that I live by daily: win the day. Even when there’s a set back, complete a task and see it as a gain.

And so here’s to January, one of the hardest months of the year as expectations abound. This weekend I have no pretty, social things planned. Instead I’m working on a few projects for February and preparing professionally for some projects. Hope you have a beautifully productive weekend ahead. xo -S.
