Dépôt Légal
6 Rue des Petits Champs - Paris
Every single time I visit Paris, the same act takes place. There’s this place in Le Marais that I visit that always does warm baguettes at 4:45pm. Walk a little down the street and there’s a cute street side creperie stand. In one hand, the baguette—the other hand, the crepe. Usually the crepe is the sweet variety since the baguette is savory. It’s all about balance, you know.
I then meander with both in hand and end near Place des Vosges and grab a coffee and watch the people stroll by. It’s usually just tourists, or even sometimes it’s expats. Along the way I’ll either plan on visting one of these 19 markets in Paris covered by TWISPER or keep trudging along. It’s pure gluttony that I live when I visit Paris. Since, however, I hope to transition part of my life out in Paris, and thus I thought adopting healthy habits is important.

When you’re staying at boutique hotels, it’s nearly impossible to find any balance in your breakfast in Paris. The breakfast buffet is lined with pastries and bread, cheese and meats and an assortment of jams. I don’t mind it really, but come 2pm and that slump hits, you’re in for a hard fall if you’re out traveling. In addition, I’m a true believer of a strong breakfast {because I ended up missing lunch and aim for an early dinner}.
So naturally I was looking for a quality breakfast to get me going for a long and busy day of shooting {yes, I traveled to Paris to attend a meeting and smacked on an extra day to shoot content just for you}! 8am and right in the heart of my favorite area of Paris. It’s just a quick little walk from some of the most picturesque bits of Paris too, Dépôt Légal.

Fresh juices, homemade yoghurts and sweet fruit to match—the chef whips up a breakfast that feeds the soul, glutton and health-seeking person that you are… rather, that I am.
We filled up on a toast topped with avocado, egg, maple cured bacon and seeds plus a few fruity bits. Hydrated with a juice and coffee and went on for the day. I try to host a solid breakfast on the daily and this was the best one in Paris I’ve had since most places just serve up a bread basket {but not going to argue with that}. I guess it’s safe to say, Dépôt Légal is the healthiest and best breakfast in Paris.
